Children's Delivery Programme
The ProgrammeAssessment and Care Planning Pilots
The Benefits
How to Apply
Overview
Here in West Sussex, we want to focus on doing the simple things really well, like making quality, timely assessments and using them to develop robust care plans based on needs.
Our new Children's Delivery Programme is creating real changes in the way we work through investment in additional staff and resources. We want to bring about a real difference in the lives of children, young people and their families.
We're looking for experienced Social Workers, Senior Practitioners and Team Managers to join our Duty and Assessment teams/Intensive Family Support teams across the county. You'll help us start translating this vision into reality and make a real impact on the community.
The Programme
The programme focuses on:
- Improving front door services (including the development of a new Duty and Assessment duty model and the expansion of the Family Resource Service)
- Improving placement choice: expansion of the in-house fostering service
- Family support - improving support to a range of placements, including non Looked After packages such as Special Guardianship
Through the effective delivery of this programme the service will ensure we have the right children looked after, in the right placement, for the right amount of time underpinned by timely and proportionate high quality assessments.
The Benefits
A significant improvement in the timeliness and quality of assessments will mean that we have the right children looked after and better services will be provided for children, young people and their families within West Sussex.
Social Work staff should experience manageable caseloads, along with excellent management, supervision and support arrangements. We anticipate an increased sense of team identity, case ownership and responsibility for incoming work.
How to Apply
