This site provides information on our current opportunities for appointments to the boards of our non departmental public bodies (NDPBs) and will give you a general overview of what Public Appointments are together with additional information to help you decide if you have the right qualities and experience to apply and wish to pursue such a role.
By giving your time to serve on the board of a NDPB, you can play your part in securing a healthy environment in which we and future generations can prosper whilst also building on your existing knowledge and driving forward an agenda for change. We are specifically looking for business generalists, specialist experts and those who may have gained and developed their experience through voluntary work or personal interest in a specialist area. So as you can see these opportunities are open to a wide range of people with all kinds of backgrounds.
Crucially, we recognise that the NDPB boards are strongest when they contain a mix of different people with different knowledge and different perspectives - only then can a board challenge, question and scrutinise effectively. We also believe that our boards should contain people from all walks of life representing every area of the community and as such we welcome applications from a diverse span of people. So even if you've never considered yourself for such a role before, we're keen to hear from you.
