Social Workers

About Us

Our Children's Social Care Team works closely with parents and children who are struggling to stay together in the face of deprivation, disability, or abusive behaviour.

The social care roles in this area cover a scope of different situations. The members of our team:

  • Visit families in the local community
  • Work closely with residents in Children's Homes
  • Manage the processes of foster care or adoption
  • Work with young people leaving care, at risk, or in trouble
  • Look after children who are having problems at school or facing problems caused by family illness.

If you come along and join us in Coventry Children's Social Care whether as part of our Neighbourhood or Specialist Services you will join a lively and supportive service as well as receiving a thorough induction, regular supervision and an annual Performance Development Review. Coventry is also developing a career pathway that incorporates protected caseloads for newly qualified staff within the first year as part of the NQSW pilot scheme, before moving on to the Early Professional Development programme where more complex work is allocated, along side this there a firm, commitment to staff gaining Post Qualifying Awards. Coventry has an extensive training plan and Social Workers are actively encouraged to undertake formal post qualification training.
