Description

Knowledge:

Knowledge and strategic awareness of the criminal justice system, legislation and government social policy relating to youth justice.
Knowledge of principles of effective practice in reducing youth offending.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and national Youth Offending services standards.
Knowledge of strategic planning principles and how to work across different agency partnerships.

Skills and Abilities:

Data analytical skills combined with writing reports and presenting statistical data.
Ability to deliver key performance indicators & maintain standards of service delivery.
Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and inspire, motivate and encourage teamwork.
Able to present and communicate with elected members and chief officers on matters of policy, service and public interest.
Ability to maintain focus, objectivity and sound judgement in complex situations.
Analytical and strategic skills to understand the requirements, legislation and guidance to translate this in to services.
Ability to use Powerpoint, Excel, Word (or equivalent) and either YOIS or Careworks effectively.
Financial management skills.

Experience:

Experience and knowledge of work related to the Criminal Justice System.
Extensive experience of management at senior/ middle manager level, including strategic and resource management.
Experience of successfully managing financial resources and forming budgets.
Significant experience of successfully developing and implementing legislation and policy.
Extensive experience of developing, managing and leading staff in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver services.
Verifiable track record of developing and maintaining quality/ performance improvement systems.
Previous experience of written and statistical data analysis.
Experience of writing and presenting reports at senior level.
Experience of translating legislation and national standard policies into practice.
Previous strategic planning experience working across different agency partnerships.
Experience of delivering key performance indicators & maintain standards of service delivery.

Educational:

Must be educated to degree level or hold professional or other management qualification.
