A message from the Chief Executive
Thank you for your interest in the London Borough of Brent and the role of Borough Solicitor.
Brent is a modern, ambitious and forward-looking Council, which is developing strong links with partners and residents to improve opportunities for all. Our corporate strategy has been developed in line with our commitments in the community strategy and is designed to improve services, promote urban regeneration and strengthen community cohesion. It is focused on enhancing the quality of life for everyone who lives or works in Brent.
The role of Borough Solicitor will be critical to our plans. If appointed, you will act as solicitor and chief legal adviser to the Council, its elected members and officers on all aspects of Council business. You will ensure compliance but also espouse a modernising agenda. You will develop democratic services and help ensure that Brent’s residents are engaged in our work. You will need high level political awareness and skills and will enjoy working in a multicultural setting.
Brent is a very diverse place and this offers residents and the borough great opportunities. We will enable residents to fulfil their potential and contribute to making the borough a better place that reflects their aspirations.
