Welcome Letter

Thank you for your interest in joining our team. We are really pleased that you want to find out more about this exciting opportunities here in Peterborough.

Children’s Services are on a journey to excellence. Our first target is to provide good outcomes for all children and young people in Peterborough. We need to make sure they are as healthy as possible; are protected from harm; achieve good results at school and enjoy learning; make a positive contribution to their community and ensure that they make a successful transition to adulthood.

Children and young people are at the centre of everything that we do. We must provide the best possible care for children and young people in whatever setting they find themselves: at home; living with their extended family; in foster care; in residential care or living independently.

Whether children and young people are in play centres, children’s centres, day nurseries, school, college or receiving education in other settings, we want to see them receive high quality services and have the best possible opportunities for learning, growth and development.

That’s where you come in. We’re looking for people to join our team who are passionate about driving change in the provision of services to children, young people and their families; who can think commercially but have the child and family at the heart of every decision they make. For the Assistant Director of Safeguarding, Family and Communities role, we need someone who has the breadth and depth of experience to ensure that our social care function is run properly and efficiently. We need inspiring leaders to those who work with you and for you. You’ll be motivated by attaining excellence and recognition in an environment that thrives on its constant ambition for achievement and exceeding expectations.

We have started to integrate our services based on delivery through localities and via natural alliances.  This is an exciting modernisation journey in which you will be a key player.

Yours sincerely

John Richards
